I decided to get back into D&D recently with the kids being old enough to play.

There’s an old adage about having a big family is ‘starting your own football team’, well I am not into football but I am a massive geek so I have got my own roleplaying group.
I decided to go for the Essentials Kit as a starting point as it seems the logical place and after some researching, I decided it was better than the actual Starter Kit

The box set boasts everything you need to run a D&D game with one Dungeon Master and one to five adventurers. A newly designed rulebook on-boards players by teaching them how to make characters, and the included adventure, Dragon of Icespire Peak, introduces a new 1-on-1 rules variant.
I am currently painting up miniatures for our first One Shot dungeon crawl to get the kids used to the rules which I will post up shortly.
The group is looking like a nice all rounder D&D adventuring group, the character choices are…
Grax
Lvl 1 | Goliath | Barbarian
Manirith
Lvl 1 | Tiefling | Fighter
Rednax
Lvl 1 | Human | Wizard
Dordani
Lvl 1 | Tiefling | Rogue
Valra
Lvl 1 | Elf | Cleric
The kids have even been talking about their character backgrounds and have said that the Tiefling characters are going to be brother and sister and have a shared backstory which I love and will be using that as a hook as we go on.
I look forward to playing and will post what happens as we go.
